WATER LEVELS REMAIN LOW THROUGHOUT THE REGION (2010/5/14)

WATER SAFETY BULLETIN

May 14, 2010

Avery dry winter has combined with a lack of spring rains to produce low water levels throughout Northeastern Ontario. As a result, streamflows and lake levels are well below normal. Anyone on the water in the coming weeks should be aware of the current conditions and that area lakes and rivers may present unexpected hazards. Rocks, logs and shoals normally covered with deeper water may now be just a few inches below the surface.

Welcome to the MRCA Website!

The Mattagami Region Conservation Authority (MRCA) is located in northeastern Ontario and covers approximately 11,000 square kilometers of land and water including the Mattagami and Porcupine Watersheds (see Watershed Map). The MRCA is one of 36 Authorities established in the Province of Ontario.

The Mattagami Region Conservation Authority’s mandate is to protect and manage the water and land resources over which it has jurisdiction.
