Camus Rapids Hike

The Wintergreen Fund for Conservation and the Club Navigateur La Ronde are hosting a hike to the Camus Rapids on the Groundhog River. Pre-register for a guided hike to observe lake sturgeon in action and also learn about the history of the Camus Rapids. Since we can only accommodate a maximum of 30 people, it is recommended that you pre-register early.

Transportation to and from the site will be provided. A shuttle will depart from the Timmins Square parking lot in front of the old Sears store at 8:00 a.m. The shuttle will arrive at a second pick up location on the north side of the Kukatush road at 9:00 a.m. Following the event, the shuttle will depart the site around 2:30 p.m. and will return to Timmins by 4:00 p.m.

As this is an all-day event, participants are encouraged to bring a lunch, snacks and water. Please bring sunscreen, bug repellent, layered clothing and wear low heeled boots or sturdy shoes for hiking. Although short in distance this hike qualifies as a very challenging course and is not recommended for children. No pets please.

Please be advised that severe weather conditions will cancel the outing.

Pre-registration Mandatory!
