Erosion Control

Shoreline Erosion

Shoreline Erosion

The erosion of streambanks and shorelines is a natural process that can sometimes impact public safety and result in environmental damage. Over the years the Conservation Authority has put in place erosion control works on several watercourses, usually in conjunction with a flood control project.

Although the MRCA has limited expertise in erosion control and potential engineering solutions, we can set you in the right direction in order to get the assistance you need. Since erosion control projects will require work in or near water, you will need a permit from us before you can proceed with the project.
